SYMBI aims at supporting the transition towards a resource-efficient economy trough establishing territorial synergies to manage waste and exchange energy & by-products as secondary raw resources-
SYMBI enables the regions involved to foster sustainable growth and to create new jobs as the industrial symbiosis may lead/contribute to:

  • significant material savings leading to an increase in competitiveness
  • new business models consisting of sources from secondary raw material

The activities of SYMBI:

  • Encourage regional waste transformation systems
  • Promote the use of secondary raw materials
  • Prioritize green public procurement
  • Unlock investments by regional and local financial actors
  • Enhance current practises in ecosystems of industrial innovation
  • Reach consensus between the regional interested parties
