New Opportunities on the Horizon – Horizon 2020 National Launch Event

The National Innovation Office (NIH) in cooperation with the Ministry of National Economy is organizing the Hungarian National Launch Event for Horizon 2020, the framework programme for research and innovation of the European Union running from 2014 to 2020.
The aim of the conference is to help Hungarian research organizations, universities, enterprises in preparing for Horizon 2020, which is going to determine the research, development and innovation policies of the EU in the coming seven years.

The Horizon 2020 programme has been approved with a budget larger than ever, reaching almost €70 billion. The new single programme bringing together three separate initiatives (FP7, CIP and EIT) promises simpler administration and an innovation oriented approach.

The funds of the Horizon 2020 programme coming directly from Brussels will be provided on the basis of excellence and international competitiveness. The new funds mean additional opportunities for Hungarian institutions, besides the other – regional – sources of the EU budget made available at national level.

The National Innovation Office (NIH) has declared facilitating Hungarian institutions in the successful participation in Horizon 2020 as one of its firm intentions. This aim is served by the Horizon 2020 Launch Event which is to be followed by several information days, consultation possibilities and practice-oriented trainings in Budapest as well as in the regional centres of Hungary.

Date: 26 November, 2013.
Place: VAM Design Center, H-1061 Budapest, Király utca 26. (map)
